All pills must be taken.  the worst ones to miss are the last one out of the packet or the first one from the next packet.  If she does forget to take a pill, it's OK if she remembers within 12 hours; she can still take it.  But if it is longer than that, they would need to use condoms for 7 days and then start a new packet of pills.
