There are many methods of contraception available – the pill, diaphragm or cap, intra-uterine device or coil, injections, implants, patch, spermicidal preparations, male and female condoms, and natural methods such as Persona.  Although many are very effective, no method is 100% safe.  Also, and this is very important, ONLY condoms provide a waterproof barrier to provide protection from sexually transmitted infections.
